Dr. Deepti A. Jacob was born in Nigeria where she lived for several years before moving to India for most of her schooling. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Christian Medical College and Hospital, Vellore, India, and her Medical Degree from the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine, McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, in 2009. Following this, she completed her Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Calgary, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, in 2016.

During her career in Nursing as well as her GI fellowship, she developed an interest in women’s health and specifically issues related to anorectal disorders. This prompted her to complete another year of fellowship in Motility at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Following this, she worked as a Consultant in Gastroenterology at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and as an Assistant Professor in Medicine at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

She is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Neurogastroenterological Motility Society. She is interested in treating patients with a wide range of GI disorders with a special interest in motility disorders such as gastroparesis, fecal incontinence, constipation, and pelvic floor disorders.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children, traveling, all things music, and volunteering in different organizations.
